Position Overview:
HSTP intends to engage a Young Professional for Human Resources for Health (HRH) vertical on a fixed-term basis to contribute to developing HRH strategies in its intervention States. This role involves documenting and conducting evidence research in HRH, analysing data and contributing to policy recommendations towards planning, recruitment, retention and skill development and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of HRH in India.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop Gap analysis tools for conducting HRH assessments for different types of public health facilities as per national norms
- Develop a comprehensive checklist for supportive supervision by States/Districts and block- level officials for various levels of public health facilities.
- Document state-specific HRH case studies/best practices
- Support the HRH team in conducting in-depth policy analysis of the existing HRH policies at the National and State levels through in-depth literature reviews and landscape analysis
- Support HRH team in Conducting HRH situational analysis through primary and secondary data analysis and identify key HRH areas of focus to strengthen health systems in the States
- Support the HRH team in conducting a scoping review of existing competency-based training frameworks for Medical Officers at the primary care level.
- Support in the development of competency-based frameworks and competency assessment tools for identifying training needs
- Provide assistance in revising curriculum/training materials based on the findings of the training needs assessment.
- Undertake formative and implementation research, under the guidance of the thematic lead, to understand issues of health human resource planning.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences related to human resource for health.
- Undertake other responsibilities as required by HSTP and in agreement with the Chief Executive Officer, ensuring flexibility in meeting organizational needs
Qualification and Experience:
Education:
- MBBS/BDS/AYUSH/Nursing with MD (Preventive and Social Medicine/Community and Family Medicine)/Master of Public Health (MPH).
Experience:
- A Masters degree with a major in Health Policy and Planning is an advantage.
- One year of experience in the field of Health Policy or Human Resources for Health is desirable.
- Familiarity with the latest National Health Program guidelines.
- Familiarity/experience of working with health systems in the public sector.
- Experience working with states in the domains of HRH planning and health planning is desirable.
- Familiarity with conducting implementation research and drafting policy briefs.
- Research work (published work/reports or studies) in the area of health sector management and human resources for health are highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to design performance indicators, analyse data, and evaluate the program impact.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate workshops, deliver presentations, and write clear and concise reports.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Position Overview
We seek a professional with expertise and experience in raising resources to fund our activities. The role is suitable for persons who are result-oriented, capable of networking with organizations and individuals interested in funding our activities, identifying opportunities, working with technical experts to develop appropriate proposals, following up with funders to convert the applications to grants, and maintaining HSTP’s relationship with existing donors to facilitate additional funding.
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to build HSTP as a financially healthy and sustainable organization to deliver in line with the vision, mission, and periodic Action Plans, ensuring both programs and operations are carried out with comfortable and adequate financial flows. The incumbent would be responsible for implementing HSTP’s fundraising strategy and objectives with the guidance of senior management. The focus would be to connect with donor organizations, governments, research institutions, universities, and multi/bi lateral organizations working towards improving health systems through research and efforts to strengthen policy and program implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To identify appropriate donors, partners, funding opportunities, Requests for Proposals, etc. through a search of identified databases, websites, and virtual/ in-person fora.
- To connect with leaders in funding non-profits and social impact organizations that are working towards challenges and areas of expansion, especially in healthcare among other sectors.
- To identify other potential Indian and global donors with healthcare/research-related grants, including possibilities with corporates, foundations, government, and research Institutions that provide financial support.
- To strengthen the efforts to reach out to domestic donors individually to pitch HSTP’s ideas through a well-thought communication strategy.
- To work with the thematic experts in HSTP to prepare funding proposals and concept notes to engage funder interest and follow up with the funder to convert the application to grant sponsorship or revenue streams.
- Negotiating and finalizing funder and sponsor requirements and agreements.
- Develop a donor/funder engagement strategy and build relationships to further HSTP’s value proposition, leading to an increase in duration and quantum of funding.
- Develop productive and cooperative working relationships with current partners and funders and improve their satisfaction and engagement levels with the institute.
- Manage communication about the delivery of grant monitoring information and reporting to the donors except financial reporting. Financial reports are to be followed up with the finance department.
- To participate and represent HSTP in events/ symposia/ summits where funding agencies are participants and network with them.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree in public relations, marketing, management, or business administration.
- 5+ years of work experience in fundraising or a similar profession
- Understanding and experience of the non-profit industry will be an advantage preferably in the health sector working with organizations involved with public institutions, research/consultancy, regulatory bodies, or policy think tanks.
- Experience in fundraising for the health sector will be an added advantage.
