The audit of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) program revealed significant issues in beneficiary identification and registration, highlighting errors such as invalid names, unrealistic dates of birth, mismatched gender data, and duplicate IDs. The database suffers from inaccuracies due to outdated information and lack of differentiation between urban and rural beneficiaries. Additionally, multiple beneficiaries are linked to the same Aadhar card or mobile number, and there are delays in beneficiary registration and processing.
Awareness and IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) efforts are insufficient, with inadequate budgeting and lack of printed materials. Hospital empanelment faces challenges including non-compliance with minimum criteria, lack of physical verification, and delays in processes. To address these issues, a comprehensive audit of the beneficiary database is recommended, along with improved IEC guidelines, regular hospital audits, and a robust IT system for managing empanelment and ensuring that hospitals meet the required standards.
